چکیده

The invasive Lycorma delicatula (White) was first identified in Pennsylvania, U.S.A. 2014, and has since increased its range to several Eastern states. pose a serious threat many native species, including hardwoods grapes, land owners are continually seeking effective traps control populations. Both commercially-produced Web-Cote brand sticky bands less expensive duct tape often used by trap L. delicatula. However, the probability of escape from these adhesives not been formally assessed, almost certainly differs as function life stage type adhesive used. purpose this work determine if effect (Web-Cote vs. tape) on based stage. Additionally, we wanted know how among stages when individuals were exposed each type, separately. In all stages, greater than bands, indicating that more tool population control. trials using only low second (21.1%), third (32.6%), fourth (38.5%) instars relative adults (84.1%). tape, remained high with approximately 72% 100% escaping. Recent studies indicate alternate trapping techniques, circle trunk traps, even at capturing though they costlier. We propose hybrid approach which utilizes relatively inexpensive early season, fewer, later season.

Structure and Sensilla of the Mouthparts of the Spotted Lanternfly Lycorma delicatula (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha: Fulgoridae), a Polyphagous Invasive Planthopper

Mouthparts are among the most important sensory and feeding structures in insects and comparative morphological study may help explain differences in feeding behavior and diet breadth among species. The spotted lanternfly Lycorma delicatula (White) (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha: Fulgoridae) is a polyphagous agricultural pest originating in China, recently established and becoming widespread in Kore...

Relating antennal sensilla diversity and possible species behaviour in the planthopper pest Lycorma delicatula (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha: Fulgoridae)

Antennal sensory units in nymphs and adults of the spotted Lanternfly, Lycorma delicatula (White) (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha: Fulgoridae), an economically important plant pest, are studied with scanning electron microscopy. Sensilla trichodea / chaetica type recognition is based on their external morphology and ratio of their size to diameter. The flagellum Bourgoin's organ is a complex sensory ...

Adhesive properties of the arolium of a lantern-fly, Lycorma delicatula (Auchenorrhyncha, Fulgoridae).

The arolium in Lycorma delicatula is shaped as a truncated pyramid, tapering proximally. The base or the terminal area is corrugated, forming parasagittal wrinkles (period 1.5-5.0 microm), which are supported from inside by cuticular dendrites. Side faces of the arolium are made up of sclerotized dorsolateral plates. When claws slip on a smooth substrate and pronate, the dorsolateral plates div...
